At the Regional Application Center, educating others about our work and how to use satellite imagery is one of our main focus areas.
The Regional Application Center offers opportunities like Earth Observation Day and GIS Day to educate people on the world of GIS and Remote Sensing Technology.
Every year, we offer workshops on data mining with wetlands projects, including Intro to Wetland Remote Sensing & Mapping and Advanced Wetland Photo-Interpretation.
Through the University and RAC, you can take courses in Geographical Information Science as electives or in pursuit of your GIS certificate.
Through the RAC, you can earn the Geographical Information Science Certificate, which includes five courses on GIS and remote sensing.
Coastal Community Resilience Studio
The Coastal Community Resilience studio is a transdisciplinary effort between multiple academic and research entities across campus—including the Regional Application Center—to address the complexities of restoration and preservation of the Louisiana coastline and its cultures.
Earth as Art
Earth as Art is the RAC's traveling exhibit that features satellite and remote sensing images from across the world.
